Great Basin Rovers was started in 1992 and is primarily owned by myself, Bill Davis and my bank. Great Basin Rovers specializes in Land Rover products that have a special emphasis on durability, reliability and performance. We have been Land Rover enthusiasts and avid off roaders for 20 plus years in some of the most rugged and remote areas of the western United States, where major mechanical failures can be extremely inconvienent. We have seen and experienced first hand some of the mechanical short comings of our beloved Land Rovers and our experience has proven to us that it is possible to significantly improve the durability, reliability and performance of the Land Rover both on and off the road, while at the same time retaining their unique character.
We specialize in two areas, drivetrain and suspensions, although we carry numerous other products to enhance your off-road experience. We can source any part for any Rover but most products other than our specialty parts we will refer you to one of the several other Land Rover parts suppliers that can provide those parts more competitively than we can. We know personally and maintain good relations with all of the major suppliers.
We have never won or received any recognition for any cosmetic vehicle restorations and we are quite proud of this! We believe that restoring a classic Land Rover to museum quality and never using it for what it was designed and built for, is a waste of a good Land Rover. We believe that the only proper way to enjoy a Land Rover is to use it off road! As a result, designing Land Rover components to be as mechanically durable and reliable as possible is our goal. Maybe we are spoiled because as you can see from the map we are located in the heart of some of the most challenging and spectacular off roading on the planet, from the most sparsely populated and remote area of the United States, the Great Basin desert encompansing western Utah and eastern Nevada to the spectacular red rock canyons of Moab and southern Utah, we are within a relatively short driving distance from these 4 wheeling meccas. |
